On Sunday evening, October 11, 2026, His Eminence Archbishop Kegham Khatcherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy, attended the annual gala of the Armenian National Committee of America–Western Region (ANCA-WR), held at the “Taglian” Cultural Complex. During the event, His Eminence delivered remarks praising the organization’s decades-long service to the Armenian American community and its continued efforts to advance the community’s interests and achieve new milestones.
During the gala, the ANCA Western Region also paid tribute to Armenian schools, presenting their principals with the “Kapriel Injejikian” Award in recognition of the vital role these institutions play in preserving Armenian identity, language, and heritage.
Below, we present His Eminence’s heartfelt remarks,
For generations, the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region has been more than an organization. It has been our voice in the halls of state and local government and our unwavering advocate for justice.
It has ensured that the Armenian-American community is not merely present in the American political landscape, but heard and represented.
Through voter registration drives, civic engagement, grassroots advocacy, and meaningful relationships with elected officials, the ANCA has transformed the collective concerns of our community into a powerful political voice.
Over the decades, that voice has grown stronger, its reach broader, and its impact more profound.
From advocating for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide to advancing genocide education in our classrooms, the ANCA has worked to ensure that history is neither forgotten nor denied, and that future generations inherit not only the truth, but the responsibility to defend it.
And perhaps that is the ANCA’s greatest accomplishment: transforming the painful history of our people into a lasting commitment to civic participation, justice, and political representation.
Today, the ANCA Western Region stands as a testament to what a united community can accomplish.
For when our voices come together, they become more than a call for justice. They become a force for change.
