On the afternoon of Friday, January 31, 2025, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy, welcomed a friendly visit from award-winning Bulgarian documentarian and filmmaker Ms. Tsvetana Paskaleva, who has been documenting the history of Artsakh and the Armenian people of Artsakh from the first Artsakh war to the present day. Ms. Paskaleva was accompanied by Mr. Samvel Amiraghyan.
H.E. Archbishop Khacherian developed a friendship with Ms. Paskaleva during his years of religious service in Lebanon when she traveled through Armenian-populated communities, screening her documentary dedicated to the Artsakh cause. At the time, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian invited the Bulgarian journalist to Lebanon, organized a public screening of her documentary, and honored her with the Khrimian Hayrik Medal.
As longtime friends, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian and Ms. Paskaleva engaged in a warm conversation at the Western Prelacy headquarters, during which His Eminence praised her for over 30 years of dedicated efforts in bringing attention to the Artsakh cause and unveiling the realities faced by the Armenians of Artsakh, during the past century to the present day.
The Bulgarian journalist, devoted and deeply committed to the just struggles of nations, expressed her joy at reuniting with H.E. Archbishop Khacherian and congratulated him on his election as the Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States. H.E. Archbishop Khacherian, in collaboration with the Board of Regents, saw Ms. Paskaleva’s visit to the Los Angeles community as an opportunity for her to visit and engage with students of Prelacy Armenian Schools, and hold discussions with students about Artsakh and the Armenian people of Artsakh, sharing her personal experiences, testimonies, and expertise as a professional documentarian.
At the conclusion of the visit, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian blessed the Bulgarian journalist for her unwavering dedication to the Armenian cause, acknowledged her prolific contributions, and wished her continued success in her literary and cinematic endeavors dedicated to the Armenian people of Artsakh.
