
On Sunday evening, May 18, 2025, a gala marking the 60th anniversary of Armenian Mesrobian School was held at the Taglian Cultural complex , located in Hollywood. The event took place under the auspices of the Prelate of the Western Prelacy, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian. In the Prelate’s absence, Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian, Dean of Holy Cross Cathedral, attended on his behalf and formally represented H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian at the gala.
Among those in attendance were the Chairman of the Executive Council of the Western Prelacy Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian and his wife, Vice-Chair of the Executive Council Mr. Meher Der Ohanessian, Council member Mr. Sarkis Tatikian and his wife, along with members of the school community, representatives of local organizations, alumni of all ages, parents, supporters, benefactors, volunteers, and a large gathering of guests.
On behalf of the Prelate, Very Rev. Fr. Aznikian delivered His Eminence Arch. Khacherian’s message and remarks of congratulations and appreciation. He highlighted the enduring national importance of Armenian Mesrobian School, which for six decades has served the Armenian community of Montebello and the surrounding region with continuity and care. Very Rev. Fr. Aznikian described the school as a second home for Armenian Christian youth, a place that, beyond the family home, plays a central role in nurturing the identity, faith, and heritage of the Armenian nation. He emphasized the school’s mission to preserve the spiritual values of the Armenian people, the foundations of Armenian education, and the distinct character of Armenian culture. Very Rev. Fr. Aznikian also conveyed H.E. Archbishop Khacherian’s blessings and heartfelt wishes for the continued growth and strengthening of the school to its administrators, parents, and students gathered at the gala.
H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian was in Vatican City as part of the delegation representing the Catholicosate of the Holy See of Cilicia, by the ordinance of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia. The delegation extended His Holiness’s congratulations to the newly elected Pope.
