On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, presided over the Joint Council meeting, during which the following decisions were made:
Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian, Dean of Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Cathedral, will henceforth assume the responsibility of overseeing the Christian education programs of the Western Prelacy and is therefore relieved of his duties as Dean of Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Cathedral in Montebello.
Rev. Fr. Ashod Kambourian, Pastor of Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Cathedral in Montebello, is granted retirement.
The Joint Council expresses its deep appreciation and gratitude to Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian for his dedicated spiritual, religious-educational, and pastoral service, and to Rev. Fr. Ashod Kambourian for his many years of pastoral service within the Western Prelacy.
Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian will temporarily oversee the spiritual needs and services of Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Cathedral in Montebello.
Earlier this year, in April, Rev. Fr. Megerditch Keshishian joined the clergy of the Western Prelacy and was appointed Pastor of St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church in Glendale.
As previously announced, Rev. Fr. Artsakh Badoyan, Pastor of St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church in Las Vegas, has been appointed Pastor of St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church in San Francisco, while Rev. Fr. Barkev Balkevorkian joined the clergy of the Western Prelacy and was appointed Pastor of St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church in Las Vegas.
