On Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Boghos Baltayan, Pastor of St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church of Pasadena, attended the 30th anniversary celebration of the Ararat-Eskijian Museum and Research Center.
On this occasion, Archbishop Khacherian presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Mrs. Maggie Mangassarian-Goschin, Founding Director of the Ararat-Eskijian Museum and Research Center, which operates under the auspices of Ararat Home, in recognition of her decades of dedicated service and contributions to the preservation, study, and advancement of Armenian history and cultural heritage.
The Certificate of Appreciation stated in part:
“Thanks to you, Mrs. Mangassarian-Goschin, throughout the years this distinguished center has established valuable bridges of collaboration with Armenian and non-Armenian scholars, historians, researchers, and academic institutions in Armenia, the Armenian Diaspora, and throughout the world, leaving a rich historical and cultural legacy of national and universal significance for present and future generations of Armenians.
It is especially in this regard that we highly commend your devoted service to our nation. By shedding light on the lives and tragic fate of our ancestors, you have elevated to the level of scholarly research the writings, documents, fragments of photographs, and historical and personal artifacts rescued from the fragmented lives of our people. You have given them renewed biographies, historical context, and significance, thereby further strengthening the spirit of advocacy and the will to persevere among generations of Western Armenians and Cilician Armenians who endured massacre, devastation, and displacement, as well as among their descendants in the context of our present times.”
In his remarks, Archbishop Khacherian also expressed his appreciation to Ararat Home Chairman Mr. Joseph Kanimian, its members, administration, and staff for their dedicated service and attentive care in providing Armenian seniors in the Los Angeles community with a peaceful, caring, and dignified environment during the later years of their lives.
The Prelate further highlighted the important role of the Ararat-Eskijian Museum and Research Center in preserving Armenian historical memory and enriching Armenian national, cultural, educational, and scholarly life. He commended the institution for its efforts to safeguard valuable historical materials, advance research, and transmit the Armenian people’s collective heritage to present and future generations.
Archbishop Khacherian concluded by wishing the Ararat-Eskijian Museum and Research Center, Ararat Home, and their affiliated entities continued growth, progress, and success in their respective missions, and bestowed his fatherly blessings upon Mrs. Mangassarian-Goschin, the leadership and supporters of the institutions, and all those present.
