On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, received a delegation from the Board of Directors of the Armenian Youth Association of California, led by its Chairman, Mr. Noubar Derbedrosian.
During the meeting, Archbishop Khacherian expressed his appreciation for the Association’s multifaceted activities within the Armenian community of Los Angeles, particularly its efforts to preserve Armenian identity, the Western Armenian language, music, culture, and traditions.
The visiting Board members presented Archbishop Khacherian with an overview of the Association’s current and upcoming initiatives. On the occasion of the Association’s 35th anniversary, they also formally invited the Prelate to honor this year’s concert of the Iraqi-Armenian Gomidas Choir with his presence. The concert will take place on the evening of October 18, 2026, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale and will be dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Armenian Youth Association of California.
The Prelate also spoke highly of the Gomidas Choir’s artistic performances, the continued dedication of its members, and their commitment to the Association. Archbishop Khacherian wished all members good health and continued success in their programs and initiatives, encouraged the Board members to remain committed and unwavering in their service to the Armenian community, and bestowed his fatherly blessings upon all those present.
