On Sunday, October 25, 2026, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy, presided over the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon at St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church in Hollywood, marking the Feast of the Discovery of the Holy Cross.
Serving at the Holy Altar were parish pastor Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian, deacons, scribes, and choir, whose prayerful hymns filled the house of God and the hearts of the faithful. Among those in attendance were Central Executive Council member Mr. Gaidzag Zetlian, his wife and Executive Council member Mrs. Dzovig Zetlian, and fellow Executive Council member Dr. Kaloust Agopian.
Reflecting on the discovery of Christ’s cross and its spiritual significance, the Prelate emphasized its central role in God’s plan for salvation and its enduring strength for believers facing life’s hardships. Speaking of the Armenian Church’s devotion to the Holy Cross, Archbishop Khacherian stated, “For us, the cross symbolizes the crucified Christ Himself and expresses our faith rooted in Him and our complete trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Following the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Khacherian presided over a requiem service for the late Mr. Steve Artinian, a prominent community member. In attendance were his relatives, representatives of local organizations, Western Prelacy benefactors Mr. and Mrs. Varant and Hoori Melkonian, fellow party members, and friends.
