On Friday, May 13, 2022, 5th and 6th grade students from Ari Guiragos Minassian Elementary School visited the Western Prelacy and met with H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate. The students were accompanied by the pastor of Forty Martyrs Armenian Church Rev. Fr. Karekin Bedourian, school principal Mrs. Ani Shahinian-Sarkissian, teachers and parents.
The students gathered at the Prelacy’s “Dikran and Zarouhie Der Ghazarian” hall, performed a beautiful program in honor of H.G Bishop Donoyan, which included patriotic songs and recitations. At the end of the program the students gifted the Prelate a small souvenir.
Bishop Donoyan highly commended the students for their performance and efforts in creating an enjoyable program, and congratulated them on their willingness and eagerness to learn.
Bishop Donoyan also congratulated the school principal and teachers for their hard work, and urged the students to speak Armenian by stating; “Be proud of your Armenian identity, school, knowledge of the Armenian language, because understanding a foreign language is for all people of the world, while learning and living the Armenian language is a grace given to an Armenian student.”
The visit concluded with the Prelate’s benediction and gifting the students wooden cross necklaces.
