Diaconate Ordination At Holy Martyrs Armenian Church In Encino

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, on the occasion of the Feast of Pentecost, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, celebrated Divine Liturgy at Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Encino, and conducted the ordination of five deacons; Hagop Demirjian, Nareg Khatchadourian, Avo Patatian, Harout Innejian and Garabed Markarian, who for this purpose were trained by Archpriest Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian, Pastor of Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Encino. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Archbishop Yeprem Tabakian and H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, representatives from the Executive Council and parishioners.

In his message, the Prelate praised the five deacons and due to their loyalty to the Mother Church and growing in faith in the church, rose to the important rank as deacon. Also, Gary Berberian received the right to bear the ‘urar.’ Speaking about the Feast of Pentecost, Bishop Donoyan invited those present to embrace themselves with the fire of the Holy Spirit and always reflect, according to the apostolic exhortation that we are not mere flesh and bones, but temples to the Holy Spirit.
