Dr. Lusine Sahakyan Visits the Prelacy

On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, welcomed the visit of Dr. Lusine Sahakyan, Associate Professor of Turkic Studies at Yerevan State University, who is in Los Angeles to present two talks on her new book “Hamshen in Armenian Manuscripts.” Dr. Sahakyan was accompanied by Ararat Foundation board member Fred Vartanians. Hamazkayin Western Regional Executive Chair Knar Kortoshian participated.

The visit afforded the opportunity for the Prelate to become more closely acquainted with Dr. Sahakyan’s vast works, particularly on the history of the people of Hamshen, and her future endeavors, which encompass historiography of Armenian Genocide archives and producing documentary films. His Eminence commended Dr. Sahakyan and wished continued success to all of her endeavors.

At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Sahakyan gifted a copy of her book to the Prelate.

Rev. Fr. Ardak Demirjian and Rev. Fr. Boghos Baltayan will attend the book presentations.
