On the afternoon of Monday, May 5, 2025, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, welcomed to the Western Prelacy Dr. Sarkis Kehyayan, an Aleppo-born physician, author, and moral philosopher who currently resides in Germany. A graduate of Karen Jeppe Armenian College in Aleppo, Dr. Kehyayan is a respected scholar who has conducted lectures in both Armenia and the Diaspora. Dr. Kehyayan was accompanied by Mr. Meher Der Ohanessian, Vice-Chair of the Executive Council of the Western Prelacy, and a former classmate of Dr. Kehyayan in Aleppo.

The meeting with H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Following an exchange of greetings, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian shared that although he had known Dr. Kehyayan by name for a long time, this in-person encounter with such a distinguished figure, one who has made valuable contributions to Armenian intellectual life and authored significant works in moral philosophy and ethics, was a welcoming opportunity to learn more about his professional work, and accomplishments. The Prelate expressed appreciation for the esteemed guest, who in turn thanked H.E. Archbishop Khacherian for the meeting and presented him with a copy of the expanded edition of his book “Ethics – A Philosophical Overview.” Dr. Kehyayan shared that his books serve as a foundational resource for Armenian students and academic circles studying ethics and philosophy both in Armenia and the Diaspora.

Dr. Sarkis Kehyayan served in various senior physician positions in Germany for over three decades and has delivered professional lectures at medical universities.

Today, as a guest lecturer and author of scholarly works, Dr. Kehyayan continues to make a valuable contribution to educational institutions both in the homeland and in Armenian communities worldwide.
