H.E Archbishop Kegham Khacherian Conducts the Blessings of Water at Glendale Memorial Hospital

On Friday, January 3, 2025, at noon, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, visited Glendale Memorial Hospital at the request of the hospital’s administration to mark the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany and performed the Blessing of the Water. H.E. Archbishop Khacherian was accompanied by Archpriest Fr. Gomidas Torossian, Pastor of St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church, and Rev. Fr. Ardak Demirjian, a member of the Religious Council.

In his message of blessing, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian briefly explained why the Armenian Church celebrates the Feast of the Nativity on January 6. The Prelate then shared the significance of the Blessing of the Water, describing it as a symbol of the baptism of Jesus Christ, emphasizing that the use of the Holy Chrism is an essential component of the sacrament of baptism.

On this occasion, the new director of Glendale Memorial Hospital expressed his gratitude to H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian and the pastors and expressed his desire to visit the Western Prelacy to become acquainted with the Prelate and the humanitarian programs of the Western Prelacy of the United States.
