On the morning of Wednesday, January 22, 2025, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, accompanied by clergy from the Western Prelacy, visited Ararat Home in Mission Hills to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity. The Prelate conveyed heartfelt New Year and Christmas blessings to the residents and staff of Ararat Home, offering uplifting words of encouragement to the elderly and inspiring them to embrace eternal life through steadfast Christian faith in Jesus Christ.
In his address to the residents of Ararat Home, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian expressed deep appreciation for their lifelong dedication and sacrifices to their families, community, and nation, stating, “In your youth, you played a vital role as Armenian parents, siblings, and community members, contributing significantly to the healthy growth and stability of your families. Moreover, you instilled in your children and grandchildren the Armenian spirit and values, while upholding and honoring the traditions of our nation.”
H.E. Archbishop Khacherian also reflected on the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Traditions” by His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia. The Prelate shared His Holiness Aram I’s blessings and encouraged the residents to include today’s young parents in their prayers. H.E. Archbishop Khacherian urged the elderly to pray for the younger generation, so they can fulfill their parental responsibilities with the same devotion, preserve Armenian traditions, and pass on these cherished values to their children and future generations.
The Western Prelacy clergy, led by H.E. Archbishop Khacherian, also visited both the healthcare and residential sections of Ararat Home. Accompanied by sacred hymns, they performed home and water blessing ceremonies, offering the residence spiritual solace and uplifting prayers dedicated to the Feast of Nativity of Jesus Christ.
Concluding the visit, Mr. Derik Ghookasian, Chief Executive Officer of Ararat Home, expressed heartfelt gratitude to H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian and the accompanying clergy for their valuable visit, which was followed by a reception.
