On Tuesday morning, January 21, 2025, Rev. Fr. Ghevont Kirazian, representing H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, participated in the reopening ceremony of Sahag Mesrob Armenian Christian School, held at the AGBU Pasadena Complex.
On behalf of the Prelate, Rev. Fr. Kirazian joined in a collective prayer with various religious representatives and offered a heartfelt message of gratitude to God. Rev. Fr. Kirazian expressed his appreciation for the school’s reopening, after suffering a devastating loss during the fires that began on January 7th in Altadena. Despite the two-week tragedy and the destruction of its facility, Sahag Mesrob Armenian Christian School was able to successfully resume its educational mission by relocating to the AGBU Pasadena Complex to continue the academic year.
Rev. Fr. Ghevont Khirazian offered words of encouragement, strength, resilience, and spiritual fortitude to the administrators, teachers, students, and parents of Sahag Mesrob Christian Armenian School, which serves students from Kindergarten to 8th grade. He also expressed deep appreciation to AGBU for its generous support and humanitarian spirit in accommodating and hosting the Sahag Mesrob Armenian Christian School community after the devastating fires. The reopening ceremony concluded with the recitation of the prayer “Protector” symbolizing hope, renewal, and a bright path forward for the Sahag Mesrob school community.
