H.G. Bishop Donoyan Welcomes Artsakh Armenian Representatives Artak Beglaryan And Gegham Stepanyan

– “PRELACY ARMENIAN SCHOOLS ALLOCATE $50,000 IN ASSISTANCE OF ARTSAKH ARMENIANS IN NEED” PRELATE OF THE WESTERN PRELACY

On Sunday, January 28, 2024, prior to the Divine Liturgy to celebrate the Feast of St. Sarkis the Warrior at St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, welcomed Mr. Artak Beglaryan, former State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, and Mr. Gegham Stepanyan, Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Artsakh, to St. Sarkis Armenian Church. They were accompanied by Mr. Avo Keshishian, Representative of the ARF Western Region and members of the ARF Central Committee, Mr. Steve Dedeian, Chairman of the Los Angeles Armenian Bar Association, and Association members.

The meeting focused on discussing issues and challenges faced by displaced Artsakh Armenians. There was a constant expression of hope that these challenges and issues of the displaced Armenians of Artsakh would be resolved in a way that serves the best interest of our people and in benefit of the affected part of our nation.

During the meeting, the participants engaged in discussions sharing their perspectives and various opinions and ideas. H.G. Bishop Donoyan concluded the meeting by affirming that the Western United States as an organized united community, and in particular the Western Prelacy, with its churches and schools, will persistently fulfill its duty to support Artsakh Armenians, through the implementation of a range of sponsored initiatives, programs and activities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, H.G. Bishop Donoyan announced that Prelacy Armenian Schools have contributed a sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to assist displaced Artsakh Armenians. The contribution will soon be allocated by the special fund established by the Catholicosate of the Holy See of Cilicia, aiming to assist some of the needs of Artsakh Armenians.
