As a central part of his pontifical visit to the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I conducted a series of visits to Armenian schools throughout California. During these visits, His Holiness presided over the foundation-laying ceremony for a new kindergarten and nursery school, in addition to new halls and various departments within the existing educational complexes.

His Holiness expressed his profound appreciation for the notable growth in student enrollment and the increasing interest of the community in Armenian education. He articulated the vital role of these institutions, stating, “The church and the school are the pillars of the strength and vitality of any Armenian community. These two spiritual and intellectual structures complement each other. Therefore, it is not accidental that they coexist in the same place in Armenian life.”

On this significant occasion, His Holiness warmly welcomed the demonstrated trust of the Armenian people in their own schools. He particularly emphasized the critical role of the Armenian school in the diaspora, where its mission in preserving cultural and national identity is paramount.

Concluding his address, His Holiness issued a heartfelt call to all parents, encouraging them to continue entrusting their children to the care and education of the Armenian school.
