On Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 6:00 PM, the eve of the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated across all Western Prelacy Churches. The Feast was marked by a Divine Liturgy and a candlelight service, during which the New Year and Christmas message of H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian was read, filling the hearts of the faithful parishioners with divine light and renewed hope.

H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, celebrated Divine Liturgy at Holy Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church of Encino and delivered a sermon. During his sermon, Archbishop Khacherian shared reflections on the spiritual significance of the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ, inspiring the congregation to embrace the essence of this sacred celebration in their lives.

The candlelight service was led by Archpriest Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian, Pastor of Holy Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church, along with deacons, scribes, and the church choir. In attendance were national delegates and representatives of local organizations and associations.

In his remarks, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian reflected on the biblical narrative of Jesus Christ’s birth, highlighting the moment when the angels announced His arrival. This divine proclamation symbolized heaven’s declaration to the people of the fulfillment of God’s plan for humanity’s salvation. Through this joyful announcement, the saving plan of God was being brought to life.
Reflecting on the Feast of the Nativity. Archbishop Khacherian reminded the faithful that Christmas Eve serves as a moment for reflection and spiritual renewal. Just as the Mage journeyed to welcome and honor the Savior, Baby Jesus with gifts, so too should believers approach this holy celebration of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ with joy and a sense of duty.
As the Divine Liturgy concluded, the devout parishioners, moved by the spiritual sacrament of the Feast of Nativity, carried blessed candles and lamps, symbols of Jesus Christ, to light their homes and the homes of their loved ones. The glow of the candles also served as a testament to their faith and the enduring light of Christ in their lives.
