On Saturday, January 4, 2025, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, presided over the Christmas celebration hosted by the Iraqi Armenian Youth Association in Glendale. The celebration was also attended by National Benefactors Mr. and Mrs. Varant and Houri Melkonian.
During the celebration, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian spoke passionately about the traditional lifestyle of Iraqi Armenians and the resilience of their Armenian identity. The Prelate underscored the vital role of Armenian education within the community, emphasizing its profound impact on the lives of Iraqi Armenians. H.E. Archbishop Khacherian also expressed his deep appreciation for this segment of the Armenian community, commending their dedication to preserving and imparting Armenian spiritual values from one generation to the next.
In concluding his remarks, Archbishop Khacherian offered heartfelt congratulations to the members of the Association and all Iraqi Armenians on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas and extended his fatherly blessings and best wishes for continued success and prosperity in the year ahead.
