On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, presided over the initial meeting of the Executive Council. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian and members of the previous Executive Council Tivan were also in attendance during the meeting.
The meeting began with the Lords prayer and welcoming remarks delivered by the Prelate. He highly praised the service of Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, whose efforts and accomplishments we reap today. The Prelate also commended the service of the previous Executive Council members.
Thereafter, Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian delivered his remarks to the meeting. He also commended the service and dedication of previous Executive Council members during his tenure as Prelate, and welcomed the new Prelate, wishing him and the new Executive Council success in their endeavors.
Remarks were delivered by Central Executive Committee members Mr. Vahe Yacoubian and Mr. Gaidzag Zetlian, and by prior Executive Council members, who all commended the service of Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian. They also showed readiness to support the newly elected Prelate and the Western Prelacy. Thereafter, members of the old Executive Council transferred their ideas to the new Council members.
The Executive Council then elected its new Tivan; Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian as Chairman, Mr. Meher Der Ohanessian as Co-Chair, Mr. George Chorbajian as Secretary and Dr. Kaloust Agopian as Treasurer. Also its advisors; Mrs. Dzovig Zetlian, Mr. Ara Shabanian, Deac. Berj Apkarian, Mr. Garbis Bezdjian, Mr. Jack Hadjinian, Mr. Sarkis Tatikian and Mr. Gevik Baghdassarian.
Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian thanked the Tivan for their trust and committed his full support to the Prelate and the endeavors of the Executive Council.
The Prelate added, “I thank you all for your warm wishes and encouraging remarks. We all work with one goal in mind; to serve God and for the betterment of the Armenian people.”
The Executive Council’s initial meeting concluded by the benediction of the Prelate.
