On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at noon, the graduating class of Vahan and Anoush Chamlian Armenian School visited the Western Prelacy to receive the fatherly blessings of H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, ahead of their upcoming trip to Armenia. Accompanying the students were the Head of School Dr. Talin Kargodorian, faculty members, and teachers.

The visit also included the presence of Western Prelacy Executive Council Vice-Chair Mr. Mher Der Ohanessian, Executive Council member Mr. Gevik Baghdassarian, and a number of parents.

Continuing a cherished tradition upheld by the school administration, the graduating students sought H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian’s prayers and fatherly blessings in advance of their upcoming annual journey to Armenia. Following introductory remarks by a student representative, the class presented a spirited cultural program featuring group recitations, traditional songs, and dances, which filled the hall with joy and enthusiasm.

In his address, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian emphasized the deep and sacred connection between Armenian identity, faith, and education. The Prelate reflected that while we are baptized as Christians in the Armenian Church, it is in Armenian Schools that we are baptized as Armenians, and through the pilgrimage to the homeland, this Armenian-Christian identity is deeply imprinted and strengthened in each of us. The Prelate commended the graduating class for embarking on this meaningful journey to Armenia, noting the profound and lasting impact it will have on each students’ identity.

H.E. Archbishop Khacherian then invited the students to the Western Prelacy chapel, where they collectively recited the Lord’s Prayer. The Prelate offered his heartfelt fatherly blessings and conveyed his wishes for continued success in their academic journey.

As a token of appreciation and spiritual encouragement, the Western Prelacy presented each student with a copy of the “In Faith I Confess” prayer book and a blessed wooden bracelet.
