On Sunday, April 27, 2025, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, attended a gala hosted by the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) Western USA Regional Executive at the Reflections Venue in Glendale, California, celebrating the 115th anniversary of the Armenian Relief Society. Accompanying the Prelate was Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian.

In his address, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian commended the members of the ARS for their dedicated service and patriotic efforts across Armenian communities. The Prelate praised the organizations unwavering commitment to humanitarian, educational, and social service programs, noting that for 115 years, the ARS has built its legacy on service, which has become its central purpose and identity. H.E. Archbishop Khacherian emphasized that the devoted members and leaders of the ARS, both past and present, have tirelessly worked to support Armenian families in need throughout the diaspora, provide aid to students, and extend care and assistance to our brothers and sisters in Armenia. The Prelate noted that this unwavering dedication is rooted in the profound belief that serving the people is, in essence, serving both the Church and the homeland.

H.E. Archbishop Khacherian also reflected on the role of the ARS in empowering Armenian women. “Any initiative under the sponsorship of the ARS, regardless of its scope, is not only destined for success, but fulfills its mission with purpose,” he stated. “Over the years of pastoral service, we’ve witnessed firsthand the extraordinary effectiveness of women’s multifaceted talents and abilities, especially those of ARS members. The ARS is more than a charitable and caregiving organization, which fulfills the social services needs of the community; it is an institution dedicated to cultivating the talents and abilities of Armenian women to their full professional potential, particularly here in the Western United States.”

The Prelate concluded his remarks by offering his fatherly blessings to all in attendance and wishing the dedicated members of the ARS continued strength, success, and inspiration in their noble and patriotic work.
