
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, welcomed one of his longtime colleagues and friends Rev. Viken Cholakian, Head of the Armenian Evangelical Church of Greece to the Western Prelacy. Accompanying Rev. Cholakian was Rev. Henrik Shahnazaryan, Pastor of the Armenian Evangelical Association of North America. Rev. Viken Cholakian is currently in Los Angeles on an ecclesiastical mission.
During their meeting, Rev. Viken Cholakian congratulated his longtime friend and colleague, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian, on his election as Prelate of the Western Prelacy and expressed his confidence in his leadership stating, “Dear Archbishop Khacherian, just as you demonstrated active service in Greece, we are certain that in this vast region of the diaspora, you will likewise continue to dedicate your years of experience and leadership. Under your guidance, the enduring friendship and collaboration between our two Armenian communities in Greece will flourish, also further strengthening the ties, friendly relations, and collaboration among our spiritual communities in this region.”
H.E. Archbishop Khacherian, in turn, warmly welcomed Rev. Cholakian and expressed his pleasure at reuniting with the Head of the Armenian Evangelical Church of Greece. In a warm and cordial atmosphere, the Prelate and Rev. Cholakian shared updates on the Armenian communities in their respective regions, reminisced about past experiences, and reflected on the spiritual significance of the Lenten season.
Following their meeting, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian hosted Rev. Cholakian and Rev. Shahnazaryan for lunch. As the visit concluded, the Prelate and Rev. Cholakian exchanged best wishes for continued success in their spiritual missions, expressing hopes for future reunions.
