H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate of the Western Prelacy, with the invitation of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia, was in Lebanon, on the evening of Thursday, September 28, 2023. Taking this into consideration, at the invitation of H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, H.E. Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, conducted a ceremonial Divine Liturgy at the Armenian Apostolic Church of North Hollywood on the occasion of the feast of St. George the Commander. H.E. Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian delivered the sermon, blessed the (Madagh), and extended his congratulations to the parishioners and community for the Church’s name day.
Clergy, deacons, and acolytes from the Western Prelacy also took part in the celebration.
In his message, H.E. Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, recognized St. George the Commander’s life, achievements, and hardships, connecting them to the persecution faced by the Armenian people. H.E. Archbishop Sarkissian emphasized that individuals who endure suffering for their faith and Christ and follow the path of Jesus Christ will be revered in heaven.
