– UNDER THE DIRECTIVE OF HIS HOLINESS, SPECIFIC ATTENTION SHOULD BE PUT TOWARDS THE ARMENIAN TEACHERS IN LEBANON AND SYRIA
2023 is the 850th anniversary of the great theologian and orator, great clergyman and pastor, great leader and teacher; St. Nerses Shnorhali (1100-1173.)
On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, invited the Principals Armenian language teachers of all the 13 Prelacy Armenian Schools to the Western Prelacy, to a unique commemoration honoring the 850th anniversary of the passing of St. Nerses Shnorhali. During the event, the Armenian language teachers were also honored for their service to our schools and students.
Bishop Donoyan noted that this gathering took place on a special occasion which was the best incentive for us to once again turn our gaze of appreciation and respect to our teachers and educators of our Prelacy Armenian schools, for their tireless service towards our students.
It should be noted that during the event, each teacher was greeted with a flower, and at the end of the event, as a sign of respect towards their mission, dedication and service to our schools and students, each teacher received a financial gift of $850 dollars.
In accordance with His Holiness Catholicos Aram I.’s directive, the Western Prelacy makes a new gesture of solidarity with the teachers of the Armenian Prelacy schools in Lebanon and Syria.
