On Friday morning, August 21, 2026, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, attended the opening ceremony of the new academic year at Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Preschool and Kindergarten in Pasadena. On this occasion, the Prelate offered his fatherly blessings and words of guidance to the children, educators, families, and members of the Pasadena Armenian community, wishing everyone a successful, productive, and healthy academic year.

In his remarks, Archbishop Khacherian expressed his appreciation for the tremendous dedication, patience, and important work of the preschool’s faculty and staff. He noted that educating and caring for children at such a young age is a heroic and demanding responsibility, one that requires professional preparation, commitment, and great patience. The Prelate emphasized the vital role of early childhood education, describing the preschool as a foundation upon which the future of the Armenian community is built. “The more conscientiously parents guide their beloved children at home, and teachers educate their energetic students at school, the more our community will be blessed with well-raised new generations of Armenian Christians,” the Prelate stated.

Concluding his remarks, Archbishop Khacherian congratulated the administration, faculty, staff, students, and families of Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Preschool and Kindergarten on the commencement of the new academic year, and extended his blessings and best wishes for a successful and rewarding year ahead.
