H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11 a.m., under the auspices of H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, the traditional luncheon-boutique of the Western Prelacy Ladies Auxiliary took place at the Anoush Banquet Hall in Glendale, hosted by Dr. Sona Kazandjian. Approximately 200 were in attendance. Among the attendees of the luncheon-boutique were Archpriest Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian, Mrs. Dozvig Zetlian, member of the Executive Council of the Western Prelacy, Mrs. Christina Khanjian, Chairperson of the Armenian Relief Society Western USA Regional Executive Board, supporters and benefactors of Western Prelacy humanitarian programs, as well as guests.

The opening remarks were delivered by Mrs. Sossi Geukgeozian, Vice-Chairwoman of the Ladies Auxiliary , who expressed gratitude to H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian for his presence at the traditional luncheon-boutique of the Ladies Auxiliary and thanked the Western Prelacy Executive Council, the hosts of the luncheon-boutique, as well as old and new benefactors, and all those in attendance. Mrs. Geukgeozian shared that through this luncheon, the Ladies Auxiliary also extends their prayers to the relatives of the Armenian women in attendance, including grandmothers, mothers, and sisters, who are currently facing difficult circumstances and crises in Lebanon and Syria, wishing them increased strength and wisdom to navigate through the challenging times in their countries.

The opening remark was succeeded by H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian’s message, delivered in a serene setting, as the attendees listened to the Prelate’s reflections focused on the role of Armenian women and the moral impact they have made as mothers and sisters within the Armenian household, community, and nation.

H.E. Archbishop Khacherian emphasized the importance of the traditional image and role of Armenian women, describing them as the adornment of Armenian society throughout history. The Prelate connected his thoughts to His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia, declaring 2025 the “year of the revitalization of traditions.” H.E. Archbishop Khacherian praised the human attributes of Armenian mothers and sisters, their God-given qualities, dedication, and efforts in preserving Armenian traditions and spirit like guardian angels. H.E. Archbishop Khacherian expressed his deep respect for the Armenian women in attendance at the event, recognizing their inspiring presence, impact, and influence in our community.

After sharing warm words of appreciation to the host of the event, Dr. Sona Kazandjian, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian expressed his praise for the enthusiasm and efforts that the members of the Ladies Auxiliary and volunteers had put forth into beautifully decorating the hall, meticulously organizing the annual luncheon-boutique, where Armenian women in attendance had the opportunity to make purchases, and many of whom also made donations and contributions to the Ladies Auxiliary.

As in the past, a group of high school students from Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School, under the leadership of the school’s music teacher, Mrs. Lusine Meliksetian, went around the tables singing Christmas carols, captivating those in attendance, and welcoming Santa Claus, while performing a series of dances and songs with Santa Clause, filling the hall and the hearts of the attendees with youthful energy and festive holiday sounds.

We would also like to mention that the luncheon-banquet also included a cultural program featuring Armenian songs by singer Mr. Vahe Garabedian, accompanied by Christine Hovhan.
