On the morning of Friday, March 6, 2026, with the blessing of H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian, former Dean of Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Cathedral of Montebello, presided over the International Women’s Day of Prayer service. The gathering took place at Holy Cross Cathedral and was hosted by the church’s Board of Trustees, with the participation of several hundred Armenian and non-Armenian faithful.

For this year’s observance of the traditional International Women’s Day of Prayer, the organizers selected Holy Cross Cathedral as the host venue. The clergy and faithful entered the church with hymns of blessing, after which Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian offered the opening prayer and shared his heartfelt remarks. Representatives of various Christian churches then offered biblical readings centered on the theme of the day, drawn from Matthew 11:28, where Jesus invites all humanity, saying, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

The musical portion of the program was presented by the choir of Holy Cross Cathedral, which performed spiritual hymns and songs. Representatives of the Evangelical Church also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the role of the Armenian woman. The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer by the Reverend Father, who wished the faithful strength and perseverance in their faith.

Following the service, a reception was hosted by the Board of Trustees of Holy Cross Cathedral.
