Prelate’s Blessing and Congratulatory Remark

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Prov. 1:7)

Honorable Principals,

Under the watchful eye of God, we have successfully concluded the 2021-2022 academic year, albeit through its many challenges.

In addition to the Divine blessings, H.H. Aram I., Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia’s “Year of Diaspora” proclamation was an inspiration for us all, for this reason the Western Prelacy, with its Religious and Executive Councils, parishes, schools, organizations and faithful are called to re-evaluate ourselves as a collective body, then adopt new programs and methods to become a more conscious and stronger Armenian-Christian community, for the glorification of the Armenian Church, for the prosperity of the nation and for the welfare of our homeland.

The Diaspora means the preservation of the Armenian identity and is realized, first by fortifying our Armenian schools which remains the strongest pillar of the Diaspora. Our school system with its students as the foundation, its supportive parents as the foremost guarantor, its teachers and principals as the providers of intellectual progress and national identity, will collectively shape the nation’s future.

We warmly command the faculty, administration and educational departments of the Prelacy schools and especially the students and parents, who are re-doubling their efforts every year, thereby making national identity an enduring value and a high-priority in their lives. Indeed, the Western Prelacy, as an authority center for our community, is extremely proud of the leadership demonstrated by the Armenian principal, the self-sacrifice of the Armenian teacher, the volition of the Armenian parent, and finally the Armenian-Christian identity of our students. We are also very appreciative of the financial and moral support received from countless volunteers and benefactors.

By the will of God, just as the phoenix rising from the ashes, we hopefully await the rebirth of the Armenian nation: Armenia, Artsakh and Diaspora.

May the life-giving breath of God be our source of eternal hope and brotherly love and for the protection of our community life both in our homeland and Diaspora.

With Christian love,
Prayerfully
Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate
