“The Good News Of The Glorious Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Is The Pinnacle Of All Forms Of Greetings,” Said The Prelate
On the morning of Sunday, April 5, 2026, the glorious Feast of the Holy Resurrection of Jesus Christ was celebrated in all churches of the Western Prelacy. The celebration filled the hearts of thousands of faithful parishioners with the joyful hope of eternal life after death, a promise granted by the Son of God, Jesus Christ, through His Resurrection following His suffering and crucifixion in His final days on earth.
On this occasion, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, celebrated Divine Liturgy and delivered his sermon at St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church in Glendale. More than a thousand faithful parishioners gathered in the spacious church. In a prayerful and moving atmosphere, the congregation, led by the altar servers, offered hymns of gratefulness, lifting their prayers from their hearts towards heaven. They then joyfully proclaimed the good news of Christ’s Resurrection, greeting one another and the Prelate with the traditional declaration of the Christian world, “Christ is risen from the dead; blessed is the Resurrection of Christ.”
The altar was served by the clergy of the church, together with deacons, scribes, and the choir. Among those in attendance were Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian, Chairman of the Executive Council, with his wife, and Executive Council member Mr. Ronnie Gharibian with his family.
In his spiritually uplifting sermon, Archbishop Khacherian reflected on the profound meaning of the Feast of the Holy Resurrection, offering praise and appreciation to the Heavenly Father, who through the crucifixion of His Only Begotten Son granted new life to all who believe in Jesus Christ and live according to His commandments, so that they may be found worthy of eternal life.
Emphasizing the Resurrection of Jesus Christ as the foundation of faith, Archbishop Khacherian spoke about the words “faith, hope, and love” as recorded in Holy Scripture, noting their deep and symbolic significance. The Prelate explained that these are not recited together by coincidence during the baptism of a newborn child, but reflect the essence of Christian life, “This is the faith that comes from the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, granting the hope of eternal life, which in turn reveals the love of the Heavenly Father, bestowing new life upon the Christian child.” Archbishop Khacherian added that, in this light, “The Feast of the Holy Resurrection is regarded as the Feast of Feasts in the Christian world, the greatest of all celebrations, and as a message of good news, the highest pinnacle of all greetings.”
At the conclusion of the spiritual service, the faithful departed with joy, leaving their spiritual home renewed in faith through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and carrying with them the blessings and well wishes of Archbishop Kegham Khacherian into their homes.
