On Tuesday, August 8, 2023, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, welcomed the newly appointed Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles Dr. Garen Israelian should be Dr. Karen Israyelyan to the Western Prelacy. In attendance were Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian, Dean of St. Mary’s Armenian Church in Glendale and Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian, Chair of the Executive Council.
The Prelate congratulated and welcomed Dr. Israyelyan, and emphasized the decades long cooperation between the Prelacy and the Consulate, which is based upon reciprocal support and expressed hope that it will continue with the same warmth. In turn, Dr. Israyelyan expressed his support towards the mutual efforts and thanked the Prelate for the invite.
During the meeting, there was an opportunity to discuss various issues affecting the life of Armenia-Artsakh and the Diaspora, and to look with hopeful eyes towards the betterment of the Armenian people.
